SUPPORTING OUR CLIENTS
In this challenging time, we want to make sure your supports can continue as best as possible and the way you want.
Our team will be actively working towards providing flexible supports the way you want them to be. We encourage all clients to get in contact with us to let us know what this might look like. We understand that some clients and families may want to suspend services, decrease supports or even increase.
Clients who need extra assistance with grabbing supplies, whether it be groceries or medication, can get in contact with us. We can provide a temporary delivery service for people who can't get out or at higher risk. This service will be charged as 2 hours of domestic support and billed on your fortnightly invoice. This cost only covers the time and travel costs used by the person delivering the items. Clients will need to sms their shopping lists through to Luke on 0424 160 174 and will need to direct deposit the amount spent on items to Support Your Way's bank account.
Our community is stronger together. A number of clients have already utilised Skype and our Discord server to keep in touch with one another. Through these means, clients have organised online gaming nights.
SUPPORTING OUR SUPPORT WORKERS
Over the next few months we will be supporting our team of support workers as best we can. This is our plan moving forward:
You will be reimbursed for any antibacterial wipes, tissues, hand sanitizers or soaps you buy for work. Please keep these in your car or on your person when attending shifts.
We are setting up a fund to be shared among support workers to pass on the stimulus package announced by the Federal government. This will be split over 5 pays and you will be assigned shares based on the amount of hours you have worked in the past six months. More information will be released on this shortly.
If you get a diagnosis of COVID19 or are awaiting testing we will pay your average daily pay for the previous six months less any casual loading. You will need to provide test results or a medical certificate for this.
We will be temporarily increasing the 20km reimbursement cap to 50km to account for the inability to use public transport.
Support Workers can request an advanced payment of wages. Chat to us if you’re going through a tough time.
